🌊 Y6 Swim Safe – Seaton Carew 🌊

Our Year 6 children took part in a fantastic Swim Safe session at Seaton Carew, learning vital water safety skills to help keep themselves and others safe around open water. A huge thank you to lifeguards who delivered an informative safety talk about safe places to swim, the role of lifeguards, and which beaches are lifeguarded.

The children also learned the Water Safety Code:
- Stop and think
-Stay together
- Float
-Call 999 in an emergency

For the second part of the session, the children put on wetsuits and entered the water to practise the skills they had learned. They experienced how to float safely, learned what to do if they get into difficulty in the water, and built their confidence in an open water environment under the guidance of the Swim Safe team. It was a valuable and engaging experience that has equipped our pupils with important knowledge and practical skills to stay safe around water.
