Sport events 2024-25

Year 3/4 Football festival

The children demonstrated outstanding attitude and behavior throughout the day, showing teamwork, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm in every game. It was fantastic to see them putting in their best efforts while having fun, and their positive spirit was a highlight of the event.

Junior Advanced Performance Programme (JAPP)

     

One of our students has been selected to join the Junior Advanced Performance Programme (JAPP) at High Tunstall! This programme provides specialized training aimed at enhancing athletic skills and overall sports performance.

Cross Country Competition

      

Children from KS2 recently participated in the town-wide cross-country competition held at High Tunstall. A huge well done to all the children for showing incredible determination and successfully completing the challenging course.

Girls and boys Tag Rugby

  

The children played some outstanding rugby, showcasing excellent teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the day. We are incredibly proud of their effort and spirit. Well done, everyone!

Football

The boys’ football team put in an impressive performance, showing self-belief, passion, and teamwork throughout the tournament. Finishing as runners-up after playing five games is a great achievement. We are so  proud of their effort and dedication.

Our amazing girls’ football team wrapped up an incredible competition, winning 3 out of 5 games! Their teamwork, passion, and dedication on the field were truly inspiring. Every match showed their heart, grit, and the bond they share as a team.

 Sports Leaders

Our children had an exciting day at Brierton Sports Centre, attending Sports Leaders training! They took turns leading a variety of activities, learning valuable skills in teamwork, leadership, and communication.

We played lots of fun games that they can now take back to school to lead during playtime and lunchtime with their friends. 

Crossfit

Our Year 6 children visited the local CrossFit gym, 'Evolve'. We are so proud of their effort and the way they worked tirelessly through each workout.

Year 6 Dodgeball event

Our Year 6 students had a blast playing against other schools in our cluster. Fantastic teamwork, sportsmanship, and lots of smiles all around. So proud of everyone for giving it their all and showing great spirit.

 

 

Y5/6 Sports Hall Athletics Event

The Y5/6 students showed amazing skill and determination across a range of track and field events. The sportsmanship and enthusiasm throughout the afternoon was exceptional. 

Ice Skating

                              

Our Year 5/6 children had an incredible time at the Ice-Skating Festival at Billingham Forum. It was a fun and amazing experience filled with laughter, excitement, and plenty of smiles. 

Trust event

        

We are thrilled to have hosted the Northern Lights Learning Trust Year 3/4 Sportshall Athletics event, here at St. Helen’s Primary School. Our students enthusiastically participated in activities such as speed bounce, long jump, javelin, chest push, and a series of relay races. Throughout the event, they demonstrated exceptional teamwork and a positive attitude.

Curling

    

Our Year 5 children had an amazing time participating in the Curling Festival at St Hild’s. They embraced the challenge of trying out a new sport and truly excelled, winning 4 out of their 5 games.

 

Year 5 Basketball Team

                                                                                           

A huge well done to our Year 5 boys and girls basketball teams, who took part in the cluster event at Hartlepool Sixth Form College. They played with incredible passion, determination, and teamwork throughout the competition. We are so proud of their effort, sportsmanship, and commitment

 

Year 5/6 Dodgeball Team compete at Tees Valley Championships

       A huge well done to our Year 5/6 dodgeball team, who took part in the Tees Valley School Championships. They showed fantastic teamwork,         passion, and honesty throughout the competition and enjoyed every moment of the experience. Finishing 3rd in the group is a brilliant                     achievement - well done, team!
